Responding to Cowra’s Flying Fox Camp 2026 Heat Stress Event

January 2026 saw the Cowra Flying Fox Camp hit with a heat stress event. Thankfully our bats faired relatively well this time but if we don’t work on a coordinated emergency response plan, that may not be the case in the future. Here’s what happened and what we learned through being part of the process
